The Paisley Sisters’ Christmas
Special is a hip and heartwarming holiday musical being presented by
the Quannapowitt Players in November and December of 2010. The
Paisley Sisters (Ronnie, Lonnie, Connie, and Bonnie) are a fabulous
sister act from the Fifties/early Sixties akin to the Lennon Sisters
or the McGuire Sisters.
The plot of this musical farce is set during the broadcast of their first live 1964 Christmas television special. The action alternates between the TV show itself and the dressing room, where three of the sisters and their niece (Abigail) try to unravel a mystery concerning their hospitalized sister Ronnie, and their corporate sponsor PLASTICON. The production showcases the musical and comedic abilities of the entire cast. Each of the women has at least one solo number, and there are plenty of opportunities for ensemble (including tight harmony) singing. Some basic choreographed movement is also involved. Auditions: Open call auditions will be held on July 20 and 21 at 7pm. Call backs, if needed, will be held on July 27 at 7pm. Perusal copies of the script and CD are available in the office of the Quannapowitt Playhouse to borrow. Additionally, the songs can be listened to by clicking on the links to the right.
